Vintage 1940s Fred Perlberg “Dance Originals” dark mauve moire taffeta dress. The dress is unique, featuring side bustles with faux flower bouquet and rhinestone embellishments. Tiny fabric button closure on the front and side hidden zipper. The only flaws are on the hem of the dress, which could easily be altered. The dress also has matching, open arm band gloves.

VICTORIAN 2 PIECE MAUVE SILK BROCADE VISITING DRESS 1893, MUSEUM DEACCESSION A 1890s stunning mauve patterned silk brocade outfit, 2 piece in construction dress. The bodice is decorated with standup small collar around neckline and embellished with a large wide black lace collar. With center vertical pleating, center front closure. Bodice is lined with a patterned cotton and with 4 inner fabric covered stays. Has a front hook and eye closures. Curved and puffed sleeves with black lace at elbow extending down to wrist. Some hand stitching, mostly machine sewn.The skirt has a full back sweep with pleating at back for a nice full bustle effect, gathered flounce at hem, and lined with black chintz cotton lining.Still retaining its sewn in museum catalog identification tag at inside of neckline of bodice and inner waist band of skirt. Deaccessioned from the Rochester Historical Society Museum.CONDITION The outfit is in good condition. With some discoloration on underarms on the bodice. No shredding and no repairs. Few inner stays are missing in bodice.
