Vintage BYBLOS Blue Metallic Glittery Knit Cocktail Gown Dress XS IT 38 GLAM!

Slinky metallic knit cocktail gown from Byblos. High scoop neckline and full back makes it bra-friendly. Pullover style. The fabric is a knit and has some stretch, but do not assume infinity. Sexy 28 1/2″ slit up the left side for ease in walking. TO NOTE: The sleeves are extremely long. I don’t know if they were meant to be styled by pushing them up for a rusched look, or intended to be shortened by the purchaser. I purchased this dress at Henri Bendel in Manhattan back in the day when Henri Bendel was the real Henri Bendel – maybe 1970’s or 80’s — , not today’s accessories brand chain. (Yes, I am THAT old.) I had asked the sales associate about it, but never got a real answer, just “Fashion to your liking.” I show the sleeves both ways in the photos. The color is a gorgeous royal blue glittery metallic – it reminds me of a sparkly evening sky. The color may be a little less bright than in some photos. Please allow for any color display differences on different monitors. I try to describe the color as accurately as I can, but such are my photography skills. ‘Sorry that only floor shots are shown. I didn’t try to fit this small size on my mannequin. I forget when I purchased it, but I am guessing somewhere in the 1970’s – 80’s. Condition: excellent. No stains, tears, weird smells, etc. It has been carefully stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home. I bought it a number of years ago, and I don’t remember ever wearing it – it was probably a bit small even then (I was hopeful with the knit.) The thigh-high slit also made it inappropriate for holidays with the family or the mother-in-law, or events in my profession. Unfortunately, I am no longer this size, and cleaning out. Otherwise, I’d keep it. I hope someone else can enjoy this dress at some fab event or dress-to-impress Zoom session. Brand: BYBLOS. Made in Italy. Fabric: 63% rayon, 20% polyester, 10% nylon, 7% spandex. Dry clean only. MEASUREMENTS: these are the measurements of the actual garment, measured with the garment laying flat, i.e. double for bust, waist, hips. Shoulders at the top: 15 1/2″ (this is a best estimate as the top is one piece with the body of the dress, and without seams from wrist to wrist.) Bust, armpit-to-armpit: 15″ Sleeve: 32 1/2″ NOTE: VERY LONG, as described above. To be rusched? Shortened? Waist: 14″ Hips, measured straight across, about 8″ down from the natural waist: 16 1/2″ Overall length: center-top of shoulder to hem: 55″ TERMS: please ask any questions in advance of purchase as I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS. I try very hard to give an accurate description of the item the first time. PAYMENT: Paypal only, please. U.S. buyers only, please, unless you participate in eBay’s international shipping program, i.e. I ship to eBay, and they handle the shipping, paperwork, and hassle (not all countries are eligible.). I ship USPS with delivery confirmation within 48 hours of receipt of payment, often sooner. Any additional charges for international sales, such as additional customs, taxes, shipping outside the USA, etc. are the responsibility of the buyer. Please note: I no longer offer “free shipping” but separate out this cost to the buyer. In 2022, the IRS vastly lowered the amount that sellers on third-party platforms (like eBay, Craig’s List, Etsy, etc.) can earn without paying income tax. I’m okay with paying tax on real income, but not on selling the stuff I’m trying to clear out as a retired senior citizen (and already paid sales tax on!). So, to avoid paying income tax on shipping costs that would go right out the window to USPS, I specifically show what I ask the buyer to contribute to the shipping cost. This is often less than what I will pay USPS. The IRS postponed the red for 2023, but we’ll see what happens in 2024 and beyond. Thanks for looking!
